A long, long day of Adventure in the city

We all went to see Up in 3D.
We loved it! Gabriel Then we decided to walk around Times Square. We walked all the way up to Central Park, looking at all the strange stores, M&M, Hershey...free chocolate kiss... A moment of contemplation.
Central Park Pond, wildlife.
The Polar Bear in the zoo was very entertaining. Camille met up with Alicia and her friends, and Ann to go to the MOMA. Where we decided to follow.
Gael still loves the penquins. Why don't we have these pigeons in NY?!
This reminded me of when Camille and Yves were little. The lovely lily pads in the children's zoo. I remember when Yves was two and missed, soaking wet at the end of Fall but he continued on unfazed. Lucien had a lot of fun diverting water in the Plaza fountain.
In the MOMA we had a lot of fun with this sculpture and its many reflections.
Gael enjoyed cooling his feet in the garden.

This sculpture invited people to sit....

but the temptation was too much.

The Road Less Travelled

Small roads, Beautiful sights, Peaceful travels...
Camille took charge of navigating. She chose all small roads. Of course we took much longer to get home but we had an amazing day. Everyone loved the wind mills dotting the sky line. The red barns. And of course some amazing ice cream, generously served. There were no aggressive drivers anywhere in sight. Actually there was hardly anyone. We stopped in the middle of the road for this one then backed up to frame it better.
Camille and I came up with a plan for our future.
Of course we didn't get home until very late and eventually had to take the tunnel into New York.

Blueberry U-pick, Frosty Mountain

On leaving Ithaca, we searched for a u-pick blueberry patch. But the one we found was closed. It had been raining miserably but we were hoping. So we took small roads in the hopes of finding another place. A longer route but so much more pleasant and we found an amazing blueberry patch! More like someone's back yard, u-pick, u-weigh, u-calculate and pay in the box, honor system. So we got started, our only regret is we picked only 15 pounds! And never got back.

Guardian of the blueberries.

The weigh station, complete with calculator, accounting book, and drinking water.
Thank you Frosty Mountain. We can't wait until next year.

Flat Rocks, Ithaca

Everyone had a lot of fun, floating down the current, picnicking, and hiking/swimming downstream, then warming up on the hot flat rocks.
