Ithaca, land of the Waterfalls

Alex and Nick were ready to welcome us with a late dinner when we arrived later than planned, of course. Alex's sister, Kirsten with her daughters, Freddie and Eloise are also visiting from Sorgues, of all places! We went there a couple of years ago to see about a Steiner school. Soon we were all settled in and sleeping. The day was grey so we started with seeing a movie in Spencer, the latest Harry Potter. Isaak, Lucien and Nula stayed home. After the movie we decided to walk over to the falls. The walk was beautiful. Lucien was sad to find he had missed them. We promised him more tomorrow.

Every turn was breath taking.

Travelling

After a lot of reorganizing, moving of beds and large dining tables, we packed our bags for Ithaca. Nick and Alex have invited us to visit. We are very excited to go. I am concerned about the car making it there and back, 9 hours total. Our visitors are here and happy. We are leaving later than hoped.

Travelling went well. But in the last bit we made an error and got lost. Finally we arrived.

Though I still hadn't handed in the passport renewals, nor would I until nearly the end of the week! Mine would wait until I returned to NY due to those difficult photo requirements.

A tenant's broken fridge is still plaguing me. I am unable to find the correct size to fit properly. That too will eventually be solved when I return.

It was lovely to get away. Nick and Alex were lovely hosts. We were so happy to meet her sister and her children, Freddie and Eloise, who live in France, Sorgues of all places. We had been to Sorgues to see about a Steiner school there. Unbelievably, Nathalie had told her friend Molly about it who also knew Alex. Small world. Nick also knows one of the tenants on the Bowery!

We loved our time in Ithaca.

Chores, friends and rain, more rain!

Gael and Gabriel dressed for wet weather to clean the deck, sweeping up. But then donned their bathing suits with hope of more rain in the water park. We met M and C there with Dorina.
Making a dam with sand and pails.

Dorina and I were under umbrellas trying to knit.

Gabriel and M playing tag.
It was a very wet afternoon! But a lovely one.

Take a walk in my shoes...

This is how I found my shoes this morning! Gael fit his shoes in mine.

A City Moon

City Garden

I love going up on the roof and seeing all the changes. Well, except the ones the squirrels make.

Hopefully we will have a few cucumbers.

I left some radishes to bloom and seed, but I didn't expect seed pods.

This quickly disappeared.

Finally a few zucchini blossoms. The squirrel kept eating the shoots but with persistence three plants survived.

I am so tempted to pluck the blossoms, stuff them with basil and fresh mozzarella, dredge them and lightly fry them!!
